Fall Leaf Pillow Box

ctmh fall pillow box

Today I have a super easy project for you! I used my Cricut machine and the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to mass cut several pillow box shapes for my upcoming craft fair. If you don’t have that cartridge, you could probably find a template for a simple pillow box online.

Using Kraft cardstock, I cut the boxes at a 4″ height, which made them quite small when folded over. Before cutting, I found an image of a leaf that I liked from the Mickey and Friends Cricut cartridge. I simply placed the leaf image in the center of the pillow box front and welded them together. That way, when the pillow box was cut, the leaf image was cut out with it.

I glued a small, clear bag to the inside front of the box (covering the leaf opening) before assembly. Then I assembled the box, and used the cut out leaf as my tag. The leaf was sponged around the edges with Desert Sand Ink and the sentiment was stamped in Cocoa Ink.

Before closing the final flap of the box, I filled the small baggie with M&Ms and stapled it shut.

The tag was attached with some gorgeous fall-colored string that I had from my retired CTMH stash. A craft fair is a great way to use up older products!

Sweet Halloween Treat Bags

CTMH Sweet Halloween Treat Bags

Here are some simple Halloween gifts that I created for my upcoming craft fair. Each bag is filled with 11 peanut M&M’s, since that is the exact amount that fit in these 1″ x 7″ cello bags, with a little room left to fold over the self-stick adhesive closure.

CTMH Sweet Halloween Treat Bags

Each bag was tied with either a Halloween-themed pumpkin ribbon, or pretty blue ribbon to match the M&M’s. Both ribbons were from the Dollar Store.

CTMH Sweet Halloween Treat BagsYou might remember the bat and “Sweet Treats” sentiment from this project here. The only difference is that I cut these bats out at a much smaller ratio to fit with this project. The bat is from the Cricut Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge, and the sentiment is from the CTMH Sweet Salutations stamp set, and stamped with Sunset ink. I used retired waxy flax to thread through the loose pieces and tie them to the bags.

Christmas Love Pillow Box

ctmh october sotm christmas pillow box

Today’s festive project features a bunch of fun products from Close To My Heart! Why Christmas in October? The October Stamp of the Month: Twinkle is a Christmas-themed stamp set, so that you can get a jump on your Holiday projects!

The “Christmas Love” Pillow Box was cut with the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge. Using the “Twinkle” Stamp Set, I stamped clusters of tiny stars in Cranberry Ink around the unassembled pillow box. Using White Daisy cardstock scraps, I stamped the holiday lights in Slate and Whisper Inks, and the sentiment in Cranberry ink.

A strip of Cranberry cardstock was adhered around the center of the box, with a strip of patterned paper from the La Vie En Rose Paper Packet around it. Black Shimmer Trim was attached along the top and bottom of the cardstock.

Each light was cut by hand, and the sentiment was punched out with a 1.5″ scallop punch. (FYI… if I wasn’t so impatient to wait for my Cricut machine to warm up, those images could have been perfectly cut with the corresponding images on the Artiste Cricut cartridge.) I punched holes in the tops of the stamped images and attached a black eyelet to each one.

I found some gold, stretchy, packaging ribbon in my stash and used it to thread through the Christmas lights, and as a topper for the sentiment tag. The lights were glued down and a couple of Glue Dots were used to keep the ribbon in place. The sentiment was attached with some foam tape to pop off the box.

At this point, I assembled the box by gluing the side flap. To finish things off, I went a little overboard with the bling (is that even possible?). Gold Sequins were scattered throughout the box, and Clear Sparkles were used on the Christmas Lights. I’m feeling festive already!

“How Sweet It Is” Draw Box

ctmh bohemian

I created this draw box using a recycled Splenda box (one of the massive ones from Costco), and some pretty, patterned papers from CTMH. These papers have long been retired… I think they were called Bohemian, or BOHO.

I started by random stamping on Lagoon cardstock, and they glued it around the bottom portion of the box. Then, I layered various patterned papers from the paper packet, until the entire box was covered. I used Mod Podge to seal the papers onto the box permanently.

Those gorgeous stickers were from the Bohemian stickers pack, and they are actually made of adhesive-backed fabric! The flowers were cut with my Cricut machine and then rolled into flowery shapes.

I wanted to provide a large opening for contest entry forms, but still make it easily accessible to take the forms out. I decided to go with velcro closures. Using 4 hook and loop closures, I simply stuck them into place, and Voila, my box was complete!
