Ah, the lazy days of summer! Here in Southern California we are blessed with warm evenings, cool ocean breezes, and plenty of sand and palm trees. The “Relax” card was inspired by just that… sand, surf, and summer. Made with the No Worries Paper Packet from Close To My Heart, the beautiful blues, greens, and browns of these papers are perfect for summer or vacation cards, scrapbook pages, or paper projects.
I used White Daisy cardstock (included in the packet), and cut it into a standard 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base. The patterned paper for the top portion of the card (palm trees) was cut 5.5″ x 1.5″, and the bottom paper (blue waves) was cut 5.5″ x 2.5″. A small 5.5″ x 1.5″ strip of tan patterned paper was cut to separate the top from bottom.
I cut the “Relax” sentiment from one of the patterned cardstock sheets, and attached it with 3D foam tape.
The palm tree circles were also cut from one of the pieces of patterned paper, and cut with a 1″ circle punch. To make them pop, I distressed around the edges, exposing the white paper core. The bottom circle was adhered directly to the paper, and the top circle is mounted on 3D foam tape. I took 3 small strips of patterned paper and dove-tailed them to finish off the card.
Thanks for joining me today.
I’ll see you in the craft room,
