Family Card

Family 1a.JPG

Today we are having another look at our fantastic September Stamp of the Month with this “Family” Card. I created this 5″ x 7″ card with a White Daisy cardstock base, and a Flaxen cardstock front.

I stamped the large tree image twice…. first, I stamped it in Sorbet ink, right onto the cardstock that I would use for the front of the card. Next, I stamped the tree with Flaxen ink onto a large piece of cardstock and fussy cut around the tree and a few branches. I then glued the Flaxen tree over the pre-stamped Sorbet tree.

The strip of patterned paper is from the Chalk It Up Paper Packet, and the piece of cardstock with the sentiment is Lagoon. I stamped the sentiment in Lagoon ink, masking off the other words in the stamp, which actually reads, “Family is Forever.”

I added 2 adorable puffy stickers from the Chalk It Up Assortment in between the tree branches. Wanting the clear sparkles to have some color, I colored over them with my ShinHan Turquoise colored marker. They all dried very quickly and I was able to add the sparkles to my tree and sentiment!

I will be linking this card to Color My Heart Color Dare, Challenge #108, found here. This week’s colors are: Flaxen, Lagoon, and Sorbet.

    • Thank you for your nice comments, Sarah! I tried to cut out more of those tree branches for the paper piecing, but they were just so tiny… some of them didn’t make it 🙂

I love comments! Please leave a reply.
