Yesterday, I showed a card made with the August Stamp of the Month (SOTM) set, “What a Hoot.” Although it is mainly a Halloween-themed set, you wouldn’t know it to look at yesterday’s card HERE. But today, I am going with the Halloween theme!
The base for this card was actually made at the annual Close To My Heart convention back in June. We played with a variety of new papers, including the ones used here, called “Scaredy Cat.” I always thought that our finished cards looked a bit plain, so I used the card as my base for the SOTM set. Here is a photo of the card when it’s open…
This adorable little owl has turned into a very festive bat! Three little Jack-o-Lanterns, stamped on Sunset orange cardstock, were adhered to the card. The “No Tricks, only Treats” sentiment came from the new Halloween Greetings stamp set. The label that it’s stamped on was cut with the Cricut Artiste cartridge.
All components of the owl were stamped on separate pieces of cardstock and then fussy cut and glued together. The purple hat and mask were stamped in Gypsy ink and complement the purple dots in the background paper nicely.
The black enamel stars can be found in the Scaredy Cat Assortment with different colored stars and punched metal pieces. Don’t forget that the August SOTM set is only available until the end of month. The 17 stamp set is only $5 when added to your $50 order!
I’ll see you in the craft room,
